I have a mail account with a webhost that is accessible via POP3 and IMAP. Outlook 2007 on the PC is set up via IMAP. I also have an iPhone 3G on which I want to access the mail.
The iPhone was set up at first to access the mail via IMAP. However, this caused some of the mails to be moved to the deleted messages folder on the server as well as in Outlook. I switched to POP3 on the iPhone but mails are marked as read on the server if the mail app is opened the second time on the phone.
Is it possible to set up the phone to receive the mails without marking them as read on the server?
Does anyone know why some of the mails are moved to the deleted message folder when accessed via IMAP on the phone.
