A friend of mine uses Outlook Express (or whatever Microsoft calls it today). He notices when the system goes to pop his email that (for example) is shows 10 new messages, but only 6 download.
He has the benefit of viewing his messages via webmail and notes there are NOT 10 messages in the inbox (or spam, or deleted folders), but in fact only 6.
He's paranoid he's losing messages and might miss an important email.
I don't know what to tell him other than if it's not in webmail, it doesn't exist. Can anyone offer a viable answer to this situation (besides switching to another email system)?
