I have a Mobility Radeon 5400 on my laptop. I installed the newest ATI Driver (11.11) on my Debian Testing distro. I downloaded it, started sh, everything was ok, and I got the message that I should restart the computer.

After a restart I used fglrxinfo:

fglrxinfo 
display: :0.0  screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5400 Series 
OpenGL version string: 4.1.11251 Compatibility Profile Context

I thought everything was ok. I started to add some compiz effects but they were not working. I thought that maybe compiz was dead, so I tried to make my gnome-terminal transparent, and that didnt work.

Well, I didn't have any 3D effects, but the ATI driver installation was successful. There is the fglrxinfo and I can start my CCC too. So what is wrong?
