What does it take to get software added to FreeBSD official ports system?

Check out the FreeBSD "Porter's Handbook" at freeBSD.org.

  1. A contributer to make a port and submit a PR (see the link to the Porters Handbook)
  2. A committer interested in the PR that commits it, this can take quite some time, since there is a huge backlog.
