I have searched for this one.. without luck. Especially, I would like Spotlight not to index target/ folders.

You can also disable indexing on specific folders via the privacy tab in the System Preferences for Spotlight.

If you want to disable indexing on any arbitrary folder named target, that's a bit trickier. Naming them target.noindex should work, but that may not be an option for you.

Thanks Mark. I have several of them, so disabling specific folders is not the way to go. I did not know about the .noindex. Still, it won't be possible to rename my folders. – Renaud Dec 14 '11 at 7:12
