I need a Linux command-line program that can:

  • Accept some kind of scripting language capable of transitions (fade, scale...)
  • Generate movie files like AVI, MKV etc from images like JPG, PNG, and audio like MP3

Any suggestions?

hand cranked cars still work , but the question is why would you drive one ? – Shakehar Dec 14 '11 at 12:59
@Shark I think coma might have a computer to turn the crank and steer the car ;) – Breakthrough Dec 14 '11 at 23:06

See DVD-Slideshow:

dvd-slideshow is a group of Linux commandline programs that creates a slideshow-style video from groups of pictures.

It seems that you just need to select the tools you want to use and learn their commands individually instead of using the bundle.
