I have a computer with an ASUS P5NSLI motherboard, running Windows XP. Recently the USB microphone I use stopped recording audio. I tried other USB microphones/headsets and they don't work either. I've checked all my setting and they are the same as when the microphone worked, it is the selected microphone in the control panel, volume is ok, but no USB microphones will register sound when I test them.

Does it show up in the device manager? – soandos Dec 22 '11 at 5:35
Yes, it shows up there. Oh yeah and for a USB headset audio can come out of the earpiece but no audio is received through the mouthpiece. – charles Dec 22 '11 at 6:59
As an enabled device? Says its working etc? – soandos Dec 22 '11 at 6:59
You can close the topic, The problem must be the microphones. I thought it improbable that two would break at the same time but sure enough they won't work on other computers anymore. – charles Dec 22 '11 at 7:58
