I have a Samsung Vibrant with a broken screen. It is fully functional but impossible to use. One of the things I loved about this phone was the camera.

I was wondering, is it possible to access/share the camera through an ADB such that I can treat it like a USB webcam? I am running Ubuntu 10.04, and tried using ready made "n00b" solutions available on the Android marketplace, but they were either buggy, Windows only/didn't play nice with Wine, or didn't do exactly what I wanted in the first place.

Ideally, I'd like /dev/video1 to show up as the camcorder application with continuous autofocus. (I had found a modded camera firmware for the Samsung Vibrant which improved the speed and accuracy of the autofocus while recording videos. Sadly, when my screen broke I replaced my Vibrant with an SGS 4G, but although they are ALMOST the same phone, the autofocus mod does not appear to have any noticeable effect on SGS 4G.
