I occasionally need to use Terminal on my 2011 17" MacBook Pro, and terminal usage demands a password. Can I enter a password, do my stuff, then boot up via CMD/R and reset the password so I can just hit Return (no password entry required) when prompted for the password, like I have it set up right now?

I understand all the cautions against not having a password- that's what backups, never connecting to the Internet, and disabling bluetooth are for- it's my Audio Editing Laptop and NEVER used for anything else.

Thanks

I don't really understand. > I can just hit Return […] when prompted […], like I have it set up right now – does that mean it already works for you? What do you mean by "doing your stuff" and then booting up in recovery mode? Why would you need recovery mode for this? In essence, do you just want to have sudo stuff run without password? – slhck Dec 24 '11 at 20:10
