I recently replaced OSX with Linux in my Macbook Pro, which has 8GB of RAM. Most things run better, except mp4 playback. AVIs play just fine. It doesn't matter what player I use. If I convert mp4 to avi then they play just fine. I suspect this is a codec problem.
Why isn't mp4 playback in Linux as good as in OSX? How can this be fixed?
