Windows Media Player plays audio almost unbearably loud, even when volume is just barely above mute. The Windows system volume is also barely above mute, and the hardware volume slider is way down.
VLC does not have this issue. OS: Win7 Ultimate x64
Tried both headphones and internal speakers, tried quiet mode on/off, graphic EQ on/off, nothing seems to bring it down to manageable levels.
Suggestions?
