I have Windows XP. When I make my Alesis iO2 my default device in the sound and voice recording box, the Volume and Advanced boxes become inactive.

Anyone know what the problem is?

Nothing unusual about that, I guess. The iO2 will probably have its own application for configuring sound. Can you maybe add a screenshot? – slhck Dec 26 '11 at 19:12
