I have a computer with two (actually, several) hard disks in it, each with a different operating system. The computer runs perfectly on Windows 7. But I cannot get the network adapter to start when I boot into Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. I get the following error code:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

The network card, as identified by Windows 7, is Realtek PCI GBE Family. I tried selecting the driver from the list provided in Windows Server 2008 R2. I even tried copying the driver files from their locations in Windows 7:

system32/drivers/rt64win7.sys
system32/rtnicprop64.dll
system32/rtnuninst64.dll

and placing them in the corresponding locations in Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. But nothing will work. I keep getting the same error as above.

Google and Bing have not been of much help.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

EDIT: both Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 are 64-bit versions.
