LinkedIn support has hit a wall on this problem which has been affecting me for a couple months, and is starting to impact my business. When I am logged in most pages (groups, jobs, contacts, etc) do not display properly and are virtually un-navigable. It's just as if they are displaying without any CSS, just a vertical column of links and text.

I've tried all their recommendations, including clearing browser cookies and cache, making sure browsers are up to latest version (this is happening across both FF and IE). It's also occurring on different computers from different IPs, so its not an ISP or firewall issue. However they say they cannot replicate the problem from their end. This is clearly a paradox. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to look at here? thanks in advance.

i tried to post a screenshot, but the image uploader just never ends, so its not working. i can upload an image to my server and post a link i guess. just imagine a page totally stripped of any style, so the top of the page is what should be the menu, but it is all displayed just as plain text links, each one on a new line, going vertically down the page, then all content the comes after it on the page is all just like that, plain text, and line breaks after images and everything else.

thanks for the suggestions. to clarify, some pages appear normal, while others do not. the pages/sections I CAN view normally are: my homepage; profile and edit profile; news section; inbox/messages

pages/sections I CANNOT view are: contacts; groups; jobs; companies; answers (under the 'more' tab)

As for what browser I am using, I have tried in both FF and IE. I'm using the most updated version of both. I've had the same issue from my Desktop, and also my Laptop, which I have even used out of many locations even out of state, and with the same issue.

edit: i also just tried creating a new account, and there was no difference in the new account

Could you post a screen shot? – CharlieRB Dec 29 '11 at 19:50
what about thier blog site, does it break there? Do they use lots of Java? If it is a java problem and they (like many) use a lot of javascripting, it could fail like that. Different computers and different IPs, yet you probably can assume that other users have different computers do not have the same problem? It could be so many things On your side, a really poor connection, various blocking abilities, configuration things, even some tweaks that do things like run 20 connection to the site, which might agitate thier hack blocker. Did you ever try becomming a "different user" there? – Psycogeek Dec 29 '11 at 20:11

Both IE and Firefox allow for a local user CSS file that will override a webpage's own. Both IE and Firefox can be started in a Safe (No-Addons) mode. You can create a new completely default profile in Firefox. – kreemoweet Dec 29 '11 at 22:28
