Any photo editing software for Mac that has effects similar to those on Camera+ or Instagram on iOS?

How is this not constructive? Granted you may have to know what effects Camera+ and Instagram have to provide an answer but the question is neither vague nor asks for opinions. – Nifle Dec 31 '11 at 15:15

@Nifle Because questions that just ask for a list of applications are not constructive. Just see the answers below. It's been discussed on Meta before, and the consensus was that questions should focus on how to solve an actual problem, and not on creating an infinite list of answers. – slhck Dec 31 '11 at 16:41
@slhck - Well I don't agree with the notion that software recommendation should be off-topic so I'm going to continue arguing against closing them. Eventually if enough people agree with me the official stance on software reccomendations could change. – Nifle Jan 1 at 11:38

This is a new app that may be of interest to you

Analog

Analog makes it easy to apply stunning filters and borders to your photos. There's tonnes of stylish filters included, and easy sharing to Flickr, Facebook, Picasa, Tumblr and CloudApp.

Could you perhaps describe a bit how this app solves this? – Simon Sheehan Dec 31 '11 at 0:49
Thanks Nifle .. I don't know of anything that can emulate Camera+ as that all seems to take place at the time of shooting the image. Instagram however adds filters and other effects much like Analog and Flare. There is always iPhoto :) (ps forgive the late post, I have the flu or something equally bothersome). – David DelMonte Dec 31 '11 at 18:24

You might try the Iconfactory's Flare. It has a filter gallery similar to Instagram's, but the filters are more customizable.
