On Mac OS X I use Typinator (Text Expander alternative) and lately it has been showing a weird icon in the menu bar (pictured below) and it is not working. The expansion is not paused, and I don't see any options which would prevent it from working, but it is not working.

Quitting and restarting the application does not help, but restarting the computer does fix the issue until it goes into this mode again.

Typinator User's Guide, on page 18 (you open it by selecting Help in the menu item's context menu) explains the icon: Typinator is temporarily deactivated because you're entering a password. What are you doing when Typinator enters this mode? Do you have support for assistive devices activated (esp. when Typinator stops working)? Have you tried contacting the vendor's support? – Daniel Beck Jan 4 at 11:51
Thaanks @DanielBeck. Not sure what I'm doing when it enters this mode, but usually I'm in TextMate when I realize it's no longer working. Maybe it's conflicting with 1Password. – cwd Jan 4 at 14:03
