I'm looking for a program for Windows 7 that lists all the specs of my PC like:

  • Motherboard bus speed
  • RAM chip speed
  • RAM slots

and so on. Any suggestions?

Try System Information for Windows.

CPU-Z should satisfy your cravings.

It's freeware and really gets into the nitty grittys such as RAM speed, exactly what is in each slot including CAS timings, type, size; motherboard chips, extended CPU info etc.

Works great on Windows 7.

EDIT - removed suggestion of Belarc (which is still good) but this is much more powerful and detailed in terms of hardware, which is what is required from the question. Totally forgot about it.

CPU-Z doesn't say anything about the RAM slots, you may have to open the case and count them, how utterly old-fashioned is that? :) +1 – Molly7244 Sep 7 '09 at 22:43
Each RAM slot is listed separately under the SPD tab via a dropdown box (why it's not under the RAM tab, who knows!) – kez Sep 7 '09 at 22:46
let's file it under 'hidden features' then :) – Molly7244 Sep 7 '09 at 23:07
