I dropped the cable company a while ago in favor of Netflix/Hulu streaming on my Xbox.
I used to have a 15mbps download speed and it worked fine with no problems. I recently moved and when the company reconnected the Internet I got a newer modem and bumped up to 20mbps.
Ever since I have had tons of issues trying to stream on my Xbox. It will either tell me my connection is not fast enough, or there was a network error , secure DHCP lost, or several other issues that can repeat up to intervals as little as every couple of seconds. (although sometimes I can get a good hour before seeing an error)
Zune and Vudu are the worst (every couple seconds), Netflix is about once every 20 minutes and I hardly see the issue at all on Hulu.
I had my Xbox connected to my stereo then TV so it was Xbox->Stereo->Tv all via HDMI. I switched to just Xbox->Tv but made no difference.
I tried removing the wireless adapter and hard wiring to my router, no luck.
I tested the connection speed and confirmed it was around 15mbps (although its supposed to be 20)
I thought maybe it was the new modem, but I tried streaming the same video in a web browser on my laptop. No problems at all.
So this is making me start to think its the actually Xbox that is the problem. I think I may just have to buy something like a Roku and use that instead. I wanted to see if there was any info I could get or anything else I could try before going that route?
