Times in times I have to connect to a computer in my company, actually, some computers, to give remote assistance. I was thinking about using teamviewer but it seems a little expensive for the company where I work, so I was thinking about using something free.

Do you guys know something like teamviewer but free ? I was thinking in using 'Windows Desktop Connection' but how should I connect to some computer that's inside some network with ip : 192.168.1.* for example ?

You can use a VPN with openvpn (or other) and connect the VPN before you use the remote desktop connection.

I was thinking in set the DMZ in my router than connect through windows desktop connection, what you think ? – Valter Henrique Jan 13 at 13:46
The DMZ in your router will only make your computer out of the firewall but won't make it reachable from internet if you don't use a public DNS like DynDNS (or see its IP before connecting). To do this you don't need to put it in DMZ (dangerous), only use port forwarding. Anyways, this could be used to connect from your company to your home not the way you want unless you are thinking to put your company computers in the DMZ wich is not a good idea (if even possible). – laurent Jan 13 at 13:59

You can use VNC and a "reverse VNC connection".

Basically you start your VNC client in "listening mode" and give your public IP address to the other guy inside the LAN. He need to double-click the VNC icon in the system tray and input your address.

Most reverse can pierce most firewalls and proxies.

Single Click UltraVNC

UltraVNC SC is a mini (166k) UltraVNC Server that can be customized and preconfigured for download by a Customer. UltraVNC SC does not require installation and does not make use of the registry. The customer only have to download the little executable and Click to make a connection. The connection is initiated by the server, to allow easy access thru customers firewall.

With a small amount of effort you can customise the user interface as well:

Single Click UltraVNC
