I am having a QR Code that contains my website URL (a 4 character DE Domain like 1233.de). As I want my QR code to look special I researched about QR Code designing today. I have seen a lot of beautiful approaches where people used interesting colors and round edges to spice up there QR. Also the usage of the 30% error correction allows embedding pictures or written words in the qr code.

I thought about a different approach today:

What if I want a QR Code containing a url but I do not care what this url is. Would it technically be possible to Design the QR Code first (for instance paint a bit by bit smiley in it)? Sure I would need a programm to generate the error correction stuff but do you think it would be possible?
