i hope you can help me. I have an hp6735s laptop with gentoo installed, and the following wireless device:
Broadcom Corporation BCM4312
The wireless works pretty well, but i have 2 problems with it:
Sometimes the wifi card is turned off by the kernel (the wifi led became orange), and if i try to turn it on again i receive the following error message:
operation not permitted due to RF-kill And i need to restart the pc several times in order to get it working again (and every time that i restart the laptop i press the wifi card switch hoping that it will turn it on again). There is a way to have the card working again without restart?
THe second problem is related to the switch, in fact if i press the switch during the boot process, i cannot really know if it turned on the card until it finished booting and i can check with iwconfig command. The led change to blue (wifi turned on) only if i type the command:
ifconfig wlan0 up
And also if i try to turn on and off the wifi when linux is running (and not in the boot process) it doesn't work.
Any help is appreciated.
