It lags the least with MPC-HC Player under "Overlay Mixer Output" setting but still the audio and video gets out of sync eventually due to the lags.

I want to ensure perfect playback by compensating the quality to the max.

I don't think my laptop is old.. see http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2205766

Did you ever try the older versions of MPC , it was found in packages called "quicktime alternative" and realplayer alternative. I believe they were much lighter on resources than this one. Then it could be effected by the Quicktime itself working hard to cleanup the decode, so check for any of its paremeters in the control pannel. Did you set the Priority of the task to High? and are there other tasks overusing the CPU (taskmanager) at the same time? Check in your power options for the power settings for media play. Are you sure the file itself is in sync? – Psycogeek Jan 20 at 6:31
What OS are you using? 7 Ultimate with only 1gb of RAM? Your clockspeed shows lower than rated speed (800 Mhtz vs 1.73 Ghtz) so check any advanced power options for speedstep etc... – HaydnWVN Jan 20 at 11:30
I've got multiple files like these that play fine in my friend's PC. Nothing is taking much CPU than the player itself in task man. Yes im using 7 ultimate on 1 gb ram. And I dunno about 800 Mhz.. My BIOS does not have any FSB setting nor do I have speedstep etc. It seems my laptop automatically underclocks and there's no override? – Power-Inside Jan 21 at 5:46
When it is playing bring up "statistics" and see if you can discover anything there. If it is accidently changing the audio offset, then purposfully make a keyshort for audio offset, and Use it with Statistics showing ( you can see any offset that exists there when you change it). run a chkdsk /r on the drive, and try a defrag using something like MyDefrag. The weird thing is, the player indeed doesnt require much cpu, the files you show require little disk speed. So mabey try and change the render type also? – Psycogeek Jan 21 at 11:17
