I get my TV-signals over IP to my home, but the software for the solution is really bad and has lots of issues with record functionality and no way of getting content of my network.

I've been looking into the details and the standards used are DVB-IPTV with H.264 compression for video and ATSC A/52 for sound compression.

The response from resellers on HTPC solutions regarding support for such standards has been depressing. Options mentioned are hooking up with VLC on the stream, and adding an extra box between the set-top box and the TV, but this is less than optimal.

So does anyone have experience using a HTPC solution with DVB-IPTV? Would have been great if anyone could share their experience.
