Set up in my living room is:

  • Projector
  • Virgin media (cabl/sat Tv)
  • PS3
  • ReadyNAS Duo Media server
  • Laptop from time to time

Now I would like to buy a device that will allow me to:

  • Connect all HDMI outputs from other devices (PS3, TV/Sat, Laptop) and switch between them to a single output (Projector)
  • Play movies (in range of formats most likely in mkv, m4v, avi) that are stored on ReadyNAS Duo Media server (DLNA enabled)

Also as I don't have any sound system yet it would be nice if this device could act as amplifier.

I was thinking about buying Onkyo TX-NR609 but as I found out it only streams music over DLNA.

Does anyone knows a device (different A/V Receiver maybe) that would do what I wont ??

Regards

Try going to your local AV store and stop asking us to do the shopping for you. – TheCompWiz Jan 25 at 14:02
Yeah that's really helpful. Because as we all know AV stores hire only people that know all about problems like mine. I was in my local AV store and I explained what I need but I had a filling that I know more about possible solution then the person that I was speaking with. They have Onkyo in stock but I wasn't inform that it can stream only music, so good that I didn't buy it then. And I'm not asking you to do shopping for me. I just ask for advice – salcio Jan 25 at 14:42
Can the PS3 not play your streamed content? Then you would just need a switching HMDI receiver to handle your other devices. – RichardM Jan 25 at 14:48
yes it can but not the mkv - or at least I didn't find a way to play them. – salcio Jan 25 at 14:51
Keep searching - you can play mkv on PS3. – RichardM Jan 26 at 20:49
