Firefox 9.0.1 on Windows 7

instantwatcher.com is a service for Netflix streaming power users. It has better search, keeps track of new/popular titles added, etc.

I was surprised to see that I could add titles to my Netflix queue just by virtue of the fact that I am logged in to Netflix in another tab.

This worries me a little because of the potential for abuse. I always thought that the Javascript same origin policy would prevent such access. Has something changed recently in this area?

Because this question is about a web application and not really about software or a computer, I recommend it be migrated to the Webapps site so that VANJ can get a better answer there. – music2myear Jan 25 at 21:27
OK I will post it to the webapps site – VANJ Jan 26 at 22:00
It'll move automatically once one person votes for it to be moved there, that way we don't get double posts. – music2myear Jan 26 at 22:03
