I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS without Compiz, and I have a problem where occasionally (2-3 times a day) keys get stuck down (not physically!). It's often Ctrl, although sometimes even mouse buttons or the delete key. It often makes the PC unusable (even after unplugging the wireless dongle and plugging in a wired keyboard).

This only happens with wireless keyboards/mice (I have tried 2 different ones). Wired keyboards are fine. I'm pretty sure it's an interference issue, as it only happens when I'm in a city - in a village it's fine.

Is there some solution to this (for instance making the OS understand that even if it got a keydown event without a keyup, subsequent keyup events should 'raise' the key)?

Failing that, is there a command that will make the OS think that all keys have been raised? I could then at least make a udev rule, so when I unplugged the wireless dongle and plugged it in, everything was fine again.

thanks!
