I'm trying to clear port 25565 for a minecraft server I want to set up, but I'm not having any luck with any solutions I've found as of yet. I have a phone line connected to a modem/router which is connecting to a more powerful router and then hard-wired to give the nearby computer giving it internet in addition to the wireless that both the first and second routers provide.

I realize I need to simplify this entire operation, but I also really want to find out how to clear port 25565 for minecraft to work. Any help would be appreciated.

What have you attempted to do exactly? There should be only one step that you must do. Foward all traffic on port 25565 to the local network ip address of the computer you want to run the server on. How you do this depends on the make and model of your router, most of the time, the help section on the configuration page is enough – Ramhound Jan 31 at 18:19
I'm trying to convert the first modem into essentially just a bridge rather than having two networks and two sets of settings. I went into the routers' settings pages and added exceptions for that port. Nothing worked. I've tried port checkers to see if it was open, but so far I've gotten nothing. I'm not sure what firewall or program is blocking it is my biggest problem. – Justin Jan 31 at 18:33
