Have started receiving a couple of XFD files at work recently but nowhere near enough to justify purchasing IBM Form Viewer for the users that do receive them. Seeing as it is an agreed upon standard has anyone seen a free or open source alternative to allow the opening of these files?

can view the contents in a text editor but wondered if there was something that would render all the tags and formatting that is present in the filew as well. –  Tim Alexander Feb 1 '12 at 15:50

Have you tried opening this with adobe acrobat reader ?, just a hunch as some people on forums seem to mention that this works, whether this is true or not I don't know, but its worth a shot.

alas it did not work I am afraid. +1 for the suggestion though as that was one of the few programs I had failed to try. –  Tim Alexander Feb 1 '12 at 11:44
