Adding a networked ldap user to group dialout in /etc/group doesn't work when logging via gdm.
prompt$ id doesn't show new group.
However prompt$ id -user DOES show it (works well). Also logging via ssh works.
/etc/nsswitch.conf:
group: files ldap

/etc/pam.d/common-auth:
auth sufficient pam_ldap.so
auth required pam_unix.so nullok_secure try_first_pass
/etc/pam.d/gdm:
#%PAM-1.0
auth requisite pam_nologin.so
auth required pam_env.so readenv=1
auth required pam_env.so readenv=1 envfile=/etc/default/locale
@include common-auth
...
/etc/pam.d/sshd:
# PAM configuration for the Secure Shell service
# Read environment variables from /etc/environment and
# /etc/security/pam_env.conf.
auth required pam_env.so # [1]
# In Debian 4.0 (etch), locale-related environment variables were moved to
# /etc/default/locale, so read that as well.
auth required pam_env.so envfile=/etc/default/locale
# Standard Un*x authentication.

Is this a bug?
Using ubuntu 8.04, libpam-ldap v. 184-2ubuntu2
