I'm planning to get Adobe InDesign CS5 / CS5.5 for my computer; it's a 32-bit, Windows 7 Home Edition machine.

Is it compatible with 32-bit for CS5? AFAIK CS5.5 isn't compatible according to what I read on graphic design webforums.

I have an copy of Quark XPress 8, which works well enough, but I'm going to compare the two and see which is best [I'm creating a software comparison site in the near-future, which is a WordPress blog].

My disk has 500GB but I'm going to upgrade that soon.

What I would like to know is what your experiences are with installation of InDesign and which is best, in your opinion.

You know, Adobe has product informations available on their website. Why don't you go and have a look at the system requirements that are surely listed somewhere on their site? Anyway, this is totally off-topic here (see the faq), and I guess on every other SE site. – SvenW Feb 7 at 12:13
I looked on Adobe's site but it redirected me to jamesvillas.co.uk – Axequa Feb 7 at 12:19
If you go to adobe.com and get redirected to some bogus site you should check your system for malware infection. – SvenW Feb 7 at 12:39
This might be better asked in a community that isn't devoted to servers. I would recommend checking out the Superuser community. – Publiccert Feb 7 at 13:03

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. See the FAQ for guidance on how to improve it.

All Adobe CS versions are 32bit and 64bit compatable. The installer recognizes your OS version and architecture and installs the correct version of the apps. Adobe CS Comparison Page

Of course CS5.5 will work on a 32-bit operating system.

I have an copy of Quark XPress 8, which works well enough, but I'm going to compare the two and see which is best [I'm creating a software comparison site in the near-future, which is a WordPress blog].

I suggest doing some research on the Adobe CS5.5 product page.

My disk has 500GB but I'm going to upgrade that soon.

This has nothing to do with your question.

This question is not appropriate for this website.

This took me 30 seconds to find, and it only took me 30 seconds, because Adobe's website is slow.

http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/mastercollection/tech-specs.html

Some features require a 64-bit operating system. All of the technical specifications are listed on Adobe's website for ALL of their products. We are not your research staff, we are not going to tell you how thoughts on Adobe, we are not paid enough. Our thoughts on which program is better, which software we recomend, is all opionion and not relevant.

Not all parts of CS5.5 are 32-bit compatible. Premiere Pro and After Effects require 64-bit Windows. – afrazier Feb 7 at 13:59
