Recently Mozilla team launched firefox 10. Apart from bug fixes and other improvements, one improvement that browser launched was Add-On Compatible. Previously, everytime a new version was launched, some add-ons were not "ready-to-use" until developer makes them ready for that launched version.

I thought this behavior was changed in version 10, with all add-ons maintaining reverse compatibility.

Did I misunderstand this feature, or is something else going on?

Is there an add-on specifically that you can't install? What's the question about this feature relating to? The release notes only state "Most add-ons are now compatible with new versions of Firefox by default" – Raystafarian Feb 9 at 11:50
Extended release notes state: 527141 Addon update check should take into account compatibility preferences 700201 Addons that haven't been updated for an extremely long time should not be compatible by default 695977 Addons shouldn't be compatible by default when their minVersion is greater than the app version; you can manually adjust some of these things in the add-on package if you need to. – Raystafarian Feb 9 at 11:57
