Users on our intranet are experiencing large amounts of latency/lag when opening MS Office documents from within webpages in Internet Explorer. More specific:
The files are linked to folders via HTTP (not FILE), and reside within the websites folder structure, anonymously accessed.
They experience this only when clicking "Open"; "Save" and "Save As" result in instantaneous downloads as expected.
File size, and network bandwidth are not an issue (this people are on low volume gigabit LAN/WAN and files as small as 3kb have resulted in 20-30s delays).
Is this because of a patch for Windows or Office? Networking issues in Windows 7?
