I have setup subversion on my server and when I do a checkout from localhost it works as expected. However, when I use TortoiseSVN, it says connection attempt failed. I think its a password issue but i'm not sure where to go from here. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank You!

How are you connecting to the server? There are three common ways: using SSH, using the SVN protocol, or using HTTP. The answer to your question will be different depending on which one you are using. – Nate Sep 10 '09 at 17:40

Check that the port is opened. It uses 3690.

That would depend on the protcol that gets used. How about 80 and 22? – innaM Sep 10 '09 at 18:04

If you are using a file:// as your protocol then the repo will not work from a remote location unless you have access to that file share normally. As many others have asked, what url are you using?

Accessing a repository on a share using file:// is a very bad thing to do. Always use svnserve or apache when sharing it with multiple PCs – Sander Rijken Dec 27 '09 at 23:50
