I've never found a tool that works as well as Dreamweaver's "Apply Source Formatting", but I don't own it (and wouldn't choose to use it for anything else).

I use Espresso on a day-to-day basis and was wondering if anyone can recommend a product (either stand-alone, espresso plugin or web app) that does the same thing? HTML Tidy and its ilk add doctypes and the like - I just want to tidy whatever I've got selected.

Thanks!

Do you mean something like 'reindent xml'? If so, I use Notepad++'s 'textfx' extension's textfx > htmltidy > reindent xml function. If this is what you're looking for, I'll convert this to an answer. –  PriceChild Feb 23 '12 at 12:40

I'm on a mac, do you know of any alternatives? But yeah I think what you've mentioned is what I'm after.. –  Cordial Feb 23 '12 at 15:50
