How do you navigate Back with the keyboard in a Windows 8 Modern UI app?

What metro app are you trying? – Diogo Mar 2 '12 at 13:30
i think it's app-dependent... sometimes ESC works, sometimes it's backspace... – Magnetic_dud Nov 8 '12 at 14:12

Use Backspace and it should function as the back key like in Windows Phone 7.

Tested and this works. +1 – Tom Wijsman Mar 5 '12 at 0:24
I like backspace - works for me too. – Guy Thomas Mar 12 '12 at 21:03
Does not work on Mail nor Calendar. This seems to be driven by the application – Archimedes Trajano Nov 11 '12 at 11:18

Hit escape - this should throw you back to the last screen you were on

that's what i figured too, but it wasn't working – kenwarner Mar 2 '12 at 14:18
it only goes as far back as the application home screen rather than the Metro desktop. But it is better than nothing. – Archimedes Trajano Nov 11 '12 at 11:17
Question didn't say how far back – Journeyman Geek Nov 11 '12 at 11:38
