I know of the Sleep, Do Nothing and sometimes Hibernate options in control panel power management but is there a way to Logoff users when the power button is pressed on the physical machine instead of having it logoff? With a script or hack?

I believe you can configure Sleep so that it requires a password to re-enter. Not the same as logoff but it might be close enough. – jdigital Mar 7 '12 at 1:24
thx for the reply but I would need to attach a script to Sleep which im told isnt possible :( Main objective is to have a different user able to login after the logoff or sleep. – user121727 Mar 7 '12 at 2:25
