I've a problem with Virtual Box, I cannot access to a CentOS virtual machine. I'm using a openfiler local server connected to my network. In addition, I can access to all the other LUN disks that I've created there. and before moving out from my old home I had perfect access to this virtual machine. On virtualBox configuration the storage seems to be ok. I've already tried reseting my computer checking for user permissions to use virtual box machines, reinstalling virtualbox manager, but nothing. Any idea of how to overcome this problem would be greatly appreciated.

My VIrtualBox version is 4.0.12 r72916 My mapping information

So did you create some iSCSI targets on the Openfiler server, and you have been using those with your virtual machines? Could you also include the version of VirtualBox and the relevant machine XML config file and the log files too? Maybe put them on pastebin? –  Goyuix Mar 14 '12 at 15:29

Line 844 of your log file is the most helpful:

00:00:03.413 Guest Log: Could not read from the boot medium! System halted.

Looking back up, starting at line 709 you can see that VirtualBox is able to talk iSCSI to your exported LUN, so I don't think it is a networking problem. I would suggest trying to attach this drive to a working VM that you can run fsck on and check the boot records. My guess is that something has become corrupted with that storage device.

If you have a backup you could also try to compare/copy the boot information from the good drive to the bad.

I'll try this when I arrive home... I'll run fsck and check for errors. –  Pedro Teran Mar 14 '12 at 18:14

My disk is dead!! it's recognised as it where virgin!! I had to re-install this lun, luckily I have a recent backup –  Pedro Teran Mar 16 '12 at 12:48

the think get really strange with the FSCK it seems to be a virgin disk,so I finished re-installing everything there.Luckily, I had a backup of everything on that lun!! I should made as you said from the beginning, so I would save a lot of time, –  Pedro Teran Mar 17 '12 at 3:20
