How can I update (using VBA) a formula referencing a cell in column X on one spreadsheet when copying that row to another spreadsheet in the same workbook, but moving that particular cell to a different column, Y? Initially it was done automatically, but some undetermined action caused the link to break (I hope I got the terminology right)...

What was the formula you copied? What cell was it in? Where did you copy it TO what did it change TO when you copied it. What SHOULD it have been, your preference? – Jerry Beaucaire Mar 16 '12 at 22:18
On the first sheet it looks like this: =(Y31*Sheet2!$J$205+...+BR31*Sheet2!$N$205), when copied (by VBA application) to the third sheet, value in BR column is moved to BY. Prior to the "undetermined action" Excel used BY value to calculate the total on the third sheet, now it still uses BR. – ayzik Mar 16 '12 at 23:20
