I can imagine that there are technical solutions which help prevent bikes from being stolen or tracking them down when they have been stolen.

Does anyone know of a e.g. GPS signal device that can be implanted into a bike and so that it can be tracked on Google Earth for example?

Or perhaps an implanted device on your bike that notifies you via SMS or phone call when your bike is not completely stationary?

Are we talking about a motorbike or bicycle? – Johan Sep 13 at 6:40
Maybe you should reread the question... – EricSchaefer Sep 13 at 9:14
As much as I appreciate this question it is in no way computer hardware or software related. Google Earth by no means qualify. – Diago Sep 13 at 9:53

I haven't seen any special devices for bicycles, but there are some GPS tracking devices on eBay. I've thought about installing one of those in my motorcycle some time ago.

I guess the main problem for a bicycle is where to hide it so that it would not be noticeable. If you'll stuff it inside of the frame, you'll have trouble charging it :] It sure is easier to hide it in a motorcycle...

@alex: fixed. I was logged in when I copied it, so it must have contained some session id or something... – Slink84 Sep 14 at 6:49

@harrymc: yeeees? Well, that's why I was talking about hiding it, didn't I? Don't understand how your comment relates to my answer. – Slink84 Sep 14 at 6:50
