I need to batch watermark a couple thousand video clips (avchd format supported would be great). Any ideas? I'm using OS X 10.5. Cheers!

Not 100% sure, but FFMPEG should do the trick (get it via macports). You'll probably need the vhook module installed.

There's a Mac build of it, if you don't want to compile it yourself.

Does ffmpeg support AVCHD? – mouviciel Feb 12 '09 at 10:38
I guess it does - kdenlive.org/forum/good-news-avchd-supported-ffmpeg – mtod Feb 12 '09 at 10:44

Quicktime Pro can do it -- you can buy it for about 30$ (rumour has it that it's finally going to be included for free in OS X soon).

Open the watermark image, save it as movie, "Select All" from the Edit menu, copy, open your movie, select "Add to Selection & Scale" from the Edit menu.

To make this a batch process, you could use AppleScript or maybe Automator.

If you google for "Quicktime Pro Watermark" you will find tutorials.

This may be a couple years too late, but MpegStreamclip (free) for Windows or Mac will put a text watermark in the lower right corner. Just go to the "Adjustments" when you're exporting and type what you want into the Watermark box.

It can batch process too, but I haven't tried it with a watermark.
