What can you recommend of an application that looks the same on rsync for windows? I will be doing migration where I need to transfer data from Windows to Linux. I like the rsync on linux where you can do updating of data from source to destination (linux to linux).

I hope anyone could share their experiences about this.

If your main requisite is 'looks the same' then you should go the CygWin + rsync route.
cwRsync is a packaging of Rsync and Cygwin for Windows with a client GUI.

If it doesn't have to look the same, you have several other options,

I as well tried to find a rsync alternative on windows and never found anything that was exactly the same. Some programs you may want to try out that I like are the following:

SyncToy http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=15155

Its has some basic source and destination setup that works well but at the end of the day is very basic. Its Free from MS so give it a shot.

Create Synchronicity http://synchronicity.sourceforge.net/

This has been my favorite sync tool. I use it to copy files from one drive to another every night as a backup. Works great!

The Wikipedia page for rsync lists several Solutions using Rsync for Windows

Robocopy is Microsoft utility for data transfer but it does not perform delta updates to files, it overwrites completely.

Maybe this url http://rsync.samba.org/ can help you. First, you should install this software in the server from whitch you want to download some files and use some configuration commands; Second, you then need download a tool named cwRsync in your windows client. Then your client can connect the server and can transfer files between them.

Acrosync for Windows is a native rsync client for Windows that doesn't depend on cygwin. It comes with an easy-to-use GUI and doesn't require password-less login. Moreover, it has built-in file system monitor to upload any new or modified files automatically. Personal use is free (with full functionality) but commercial use needs a license to be purchased in app.

Disclaimer: I'm the developer of Acrosync.
