I do not want to show my processor's name to others. So i want to edit the registry for the process's name in devicemanager. How can i do that or where is the registry key for the processor's name in devicemanager?

I use windows 7 professional 32 bit.

Any help will be appreciated.

You can edit the registry key:

HKLM\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0, Key ProcessorNameString to anything you want.

This will make your processor name on Win+Break change to the entered text on this registry key. However, next time you boot your system, your Windows will read the original processor name and chage it again. If you want to change "permanently" you need to create a script to change the text on the registry and execute it every boot. Here is a print of my sysem, I changed my processor name to "diogo"(my system is on Portuguese, Processador is the Processor Name):

Actually I told you that based on the fact that, if a device have no driver linked to it, it will show a generic device name, such as "PCI Controler" or "Unknown Device". It will never shows the name of the device unless it have a driver. – Diogo Mar 27 '12 at 19:13
