I have a problem with the front panel inputs on my Antec Twelve Hundred case that started a couple of weeks ago. The computer will intermittently restart when a device (USB flash drive, USB hard drive, microphone, headphones) is plugged in/out of any of the ports. I have not experienced this issue with any of the back ports.
Automatically restart is disabled in Windows 7 Home Premium and there are no errors in the logs. The motherboard is an Asus Sabertooth x58.
I replaced the PSU but it did not resolve the problem. My guess is a faulty front panel on the Antec 1200 case. I tried disconnecting/reconnecting the panel but I still have the issue.
I believe the case is out of warranty and regardless I'd rather not have to disassemble the computer and ship off the case. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a standalone front panel with USB, headphone and microphone jacks? Maybe something that will fit into a 5.25" drive bay. I haven't been able to find anything. I'd rather try that than try replacing the motherboard.
Cheers!
