What prevents das keyboard from working with kvms? (info from www.daskeyboard.com) Why would a keyboard not be compatible with a kvm?

My guess would be the integrated USB hub.

Because the KVM has to pass the keyboard commands through to the machine, most are probably not designed to work in USB daisy-chaining configurations. Some KVM's even convert the USB interface to the old PS2 interface.

I know ConnectPRO's USB DDM KVM switches may work with Das Keyboard without problems. The patented DDM (Dynamic Device Mapping) technology allows any HID devices (not limited to keyboards or mouses) to be connected to the console side of KVM switch at the same time still maintain 100% transparent features of the shared devices (USB HID devices).
