I have a Logitech Trackman that recently began showing weird behavior: slow pointer, random pointer movements. As it turns out, it was due to a newfound exposure to sunlight. (Yay for windows!)
Any ideas how to prevent interference caused by the sunlight? (Other than putting a cardboard box around my hand, please.)

Reading a LOT into "Yay for windows!" is it at all possible that sunlight is not the issue but the newfound (at that time!) proximity of another wireless mouse? – pnuts Apr 6 at 16:40

It's wired! Also, if I cast a shade upon the trackball by putting my hand or whatnot between it and the sun, the problems go away. – Protector one Apr 8 at 8:31
I have no idea whether would work, but failing other suggestions, might a polarizing film over the window be worth trying? (ref and) – pnuts Apr 9 at 13:42

Might work, but I'm afraid my employer would frown upon such a solution. – Protector one Apr 10 at 19:32
