I know simply changing my music software will eliminate this problem, however, I would like to know if there is a simple way to just stop wmp from 'playing' image files. I have a lot of folders with album art inside it. I know importing into the media library works as well. But sometimes i don't want to import them. so is there a way?

I don't understand what do u mean by "accepting image files". Is it using the pictures as album art; or it's just showing the picture as if it is a image viewer. For case #1, you have to disable showing album art in wmp; and for second, try to re-associate image files to an image viewer and wmp to only music/ video files. Thanks.

Sorry about the vague question, It's case2: showing picture like an image viewer. The association doesn't matter because what i do is drag multiple albums of music, and then the picture inside those respective folders go into the playlist as well. This would be easy for a single album, but i have many and i don't also want to delete the pictures as well – Jonathan Ablanida Apr 18 '12 at 12:32
@JonathanAblanida: WMP is capable of being an image viewer. If you add images into the playlist, they will "play" as any other media. – dnbrv Apr 18 '12 at 13:34
dnbrv, thats exactly what i don't want it to do. It doesn't make sense for a music/video player to show pictures – Jonathan Ablanida Apr 18 '12 at 15:22
