I use Google Tasks as my task manager app. I find that it's not ideal, but I like that it is very easy to access from anywhere.

One concern I have is that a number of features (e.g. due date, reporting what I've done in the past day) require that I prefix the task description with the date.

This is very tedious; for various reasons, it is useful to have all tasks associated with a date. I don't want to have to type in the date each time I add a new task. I've tried a number of different Chrome apps, but none that I've encountered seem to offer this functionality.

Does anyone know an easy way to do this using a shortcut key or a Chrome app? Alternately, does anyone know of a good task manager application that will automatically stamp added tasks with the date for reporting purposes?

When you say "stamp [...] with the date", do you mean add a "time created" timestamp to the task? Or what are you trying to do with the date stamp? – Lèse majesté Apr 18 '12 at 19:44
I really just want something that prefaces the task text as follows: 04/18/2012: Test task I don't need the time that the task was created. Google Tasks regards such a task as a "due date", and so you can filter by date created, or filter by tasks that are past due. Incidentally, Google Tasks isn't the only to-do app that I have this issue with. Apple's Reminders app will only display reminders in the notification area if they are associated with a date. However, doing so takes a number of taps. I wish there were an option to automatically associate tasks with the date they're entered on. – user1202747 Apr 18 '12 at 19:49
