I am relatively new here and I don't even know if I'm asking the qn in the correct site.
Please bear with me if I'm wrong.
In my command line netstat works, but ping and tracert don't.
I don't get the unknown command or batch file error.
I get "Request timed out." instead.
I have a windows 7 machine and all my firewalls are turned off.
Thank you.

Can you include the full script you're trying to run? – Ciaran Apr 26 '12 at 15:14
not a script. just "ping" and "tracert" in command prompt. – Brahadeesh Apr 26 '12 at 15:20
What is the netstat command line you type, the one that works? Please include any switches or options. – skypecakes Apr 26 '12 at 19:24
