Is it possible to set Windows 7 virtual machine on Windows 7 OS? I need it to check some home-brew VB application my son has built. It run fine in the development environment but looks to crash on other Windows 7 machines.

The VPC test images are meant for testing applications/web sites in whatever windows environtment you need. Just install Virtual PC and download the image for the OS you want to use.

Of course. Virtual PC from Microsoft and Virtual Box from Oracle are both free
