I am using GParted to increase the size of a partition (C:).

I have reduced the size of the D: partition and have plenty of unallocated space right after the C: partition, but it simply won't let me increase the size of C:.

I believe the partition is unmounted as the "Unmount" option in the partition properties is greyed out.

I run Windows XP only on this machine.

I edited "G-Part" to "GParted" since I could not find a relevant "G-Part" tool. If it was wrong I apologize. – Daniel Andersson May 18 '12 at 14:54
Am I correct in guessing that you start GParted through a boot CD? – Daniel Andersson May 18 '12 at 14:55
Yes sir - I did start through a boot CD....thank you for correcting my category and I added this is Windows XP – Pete Soto May 18 '12 at 15:08
